CRF50 BRAKE LEVER AND PEDAL

ALTERNATIVES: Sano, Five-O, Sik 50

REAR BRAKE PEDAL: RED BARON

The stock Honda CRF50 rear foot brake pedal is a little slippery and a little short. We decide to go for a nice aluminum lever from RED BARON ($95). It has a much grippier tip and is an inch longer than the stock unit. It does flex left and right a little but it doesn’t seem to bother Ben when he’s riding. It does look NICE! Installation was pretty easy and it is meant to use the stock brake rod and spring. Some other nice brake pedals are available from Two Brothers, Sik 50’s, BBR and others.

At this Point we’ve changed every point of contact between your body and the bike. This increases the comfort and ease of riding.

ASV C5 Lever

FRONT BRAKE LEVER: ASV C5

When we changed the bars to the Pro Tapers the kit came with a decent but not great Motion Pro shorty front brake lever. But over time we decided to go for something a little more “trick” so we ended up getting a nice ASV C5 lever ($95).This lever is really nice, it has a really nice feel and is spring loaded so it doesn’t break in a fall. See ASV LEVER DETAILS for more information.

Key Feature: It has ADJUSTABLE REACH and you can put your fingers anywhere along the lever (unlike a shorty lever) so it’s great for little kids and good for anyone.

I used the cable from the lever that came with the Pro Taper bar kit. For the price this is the finest lever available for the CRF50. Great quality and craftsmanship.
